What made John Singer Sargent’s watercolors feel so bathed in light — and how can we unlock that beauty in our own work, without losing our own artistic voice?

With brush in hand, we’ll explore these questions together.

These aren’t recycled ideas. They’re brand new insights I’ve never shared before — each paired with a hands-on, step-by-step exercise designed to help you bring them to life in your own paintings with clarity and confidence.

We’ll look at:

  • The inner logic behind Sargent’s color use

  • The unexpected, bold ways he applied color

  • A subtle color idea I spent hours unraveling — one that changed the way I paint

This class isn’t about copying Sargent. It’s about learning from him the way a musician might study a great songwriter: not to imitate, but to grow.
